The necklace is designed to resemble a coin that was given as a gift once a year to the Temple to cover the costs of the public sacrifices.

On one side of the coin, there is a branch with three pomegranates and an inscription in ancient Hebrew: “Holy Jerusalem”.

On the other side, the words “Half Shekel” are inscribed, along with a chalice with the Hebrew letter "Aleph" above it,  marking the first year of the rebellion.

The coin is dated to the end of the First Temple period and was found during the sifting of archaeological rubble that originated from the Temple Mount.
